The Verde River One Afternoon

Just so I don't forget...

Trek is talking like crazy. Here are some cute things he is saying:

  • As trek was walking away Gary said where are you going? He replied, "I am going peace out."

  • He fell of the monkey bars at the park and landed on his feet, but looked up at me with big eyes and said. "Dead?"

  • He loves "whoboots" (robot).

  • Trek frequently says "fun" or "that funny." He enjoys life and is a happy boy!

  • Canyon is pure sweetness (most of the time) and has been telling me how much he loves me. In fact he has said that he loves me more than:

"a rock-N-roll house" and "a nachos bell grande"
which of course melted my heart and made it smile.

Thanks to Nicci and her visit to Flagstaff, Canyon has learned to spell his name.

Trek loves capes and wears one to the park, grocery store, library, on hikes, in the bath and around the house. His favorite is one that was Canyon's. Canyon has kindly recognized that Trek adores it more that he ever would and has passed it down lovingly and willing.

Canyon is forever making paper airplanes out of anything he finds lying around and thinks worthy to fly across the living room.

Trek has at least 5 toys in his arms at all times in full play.

    A conversation with Trek:

Trek: "Mama, Buzz fly, whoobot fly, rocket fly, me fly. Help me up. Cape me fly."

Me: "Trek you can't fly, even with your cape. That's dangerous."

Trek: "Mama, cape me fly. Help up (looking to the top of the bookshelf."

    Canyon's Summer Fun

He attended two day camps at the Flagstaff Arboretum:

Peter's Rabbit's Garden: He dug up onions and was anxious to make onion soup when he got home. He also made a friend, Micah, that he is desperate to have a play date with. No numbers were exchanged so he'll have to wait until next summer to meet up with him again.

Our Feathered Friends: He saw a Turkey Vulture, made binoculars, learned about owls and eagles and fell asleep on the way home.

He took 2 weeks of swimming lessons at Flagstaff's Aquaplex where he fell in love with his teacher, pawned a pair of green goggles from her and learned to straiten his body out and kick-and-paddle (sort of).

    Our Walk to Redrock

The rain drizzled, Canyon hiked the 3 mile round trip trail, Trek enjoyed a ride in his new backpack, and I had all my boys to myself. Beautiful day, beautiful walk.

Trying to take pictures of the boys is like pulling teeth...

    And My FAVORITE:

Yesterday while the rain poured down I napped with these two boys...

    ...and we were HAPPY!
