What a boy. What a big boy.
He picked out his outfit and knew exactly how his hair should look. His backpack was neatly packed with erasers, pencils, a water bottle and the rest of the supply list. When we arrived in his classroom he quietly found his cubby, hung up his backpack and started to organize his desk. He didn't look for me or want me to stay. He felt comfortable. He felt confident. His teacher kindly greeted the parents and children. Her smile and warmth washed my butterflies away. I thought to myself She's going to be awesome. This year is going to rock. And I could tell he felt the same way. And now we're in our third week. He loves math, playing football with classmates and got a 100% on his first spelling test. PROUD MAMA!
