My Handsome Little Devil and Our Puppies

If you ask Canyon what a puppy says he doesn't say "woof, woof." Instead he says what I can only imagine would make any HOUND dog owner proud "woooooo, wooooo."

For the last 7 1/2 weeks our house has been filled with the baying sounds of Basset Hounds and it has been rough. But not for Canyon. He is not old enough to pick up dog poop or comprehend how much food 12 (10 puppies and 2 adult) dogs can eat. He just simply points outside and says "puppy" and screams at the top of his lungs when someone comes to see them as if he's saying "let me show you how spoiled I am, my Mom and Dad let me have 10 puppies. "

So as our sweet breathed, sad eyed, soft coated little friends are finding their new homes I am thankful for the un-jaded happiness they have given Canyon. He will miss them when they are gone (I won't).

Tomorrow I leave Canyon for the first time for 4 days!!! My girlfriends and I are going to Mexico for our annual reunion. I have been a little stressed and had a million things on my "to do" list. As I was going about my tasks it seemed like a million more things kept coming up and adding to my stress!

Then an angel appeared at my door. My mom. She occupied Canyon, brought us lunch and forced me to stop and paint my toes and hers (she is going to Cancun with her sisters). I absolutely needed someone to stop my madness and slow my day down. We visited and painted and it was the best part of my day. So Thanks Mama, thanks my forever ANGEL. I love you so much and am so grateful for the stability you add to my life.

Pure SUGAR

Gary’s addiction to ice cream and my love of sweets has given Canyon no hope.

Canyon’s new guilty pleasure is terrorizing my purse! I found a gum wrapper in his poop the other day.

If Canyon could tell Gary how he felt I think he would say...

You have the strongest arms and they make me feel safe.

You face tickles me when you kiss me but I like it!

You are silly and can always make laugh.

You let me make a mess, even if it makes mom crazy.

Sometimes I don't want anyone but you to put me to sleep.

You feed me yummy food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

You are the best Dad ever and I love you.

And this is what I have to say to Gary...

Thank you for being sweet, loving, playful, and easy going with our boy.

Thank you for rocking, cuddling, kissing, and hugging our stinker.

Thank you for teaching, feeding, cleaning, and changing our sweet pea.
