KIRKMAN FAMILY

Oh, the night shift...

Oh, the night shift...

It occasionally morphs me into an unrecognizable human...
It forces me to live on ridiculously small amounts of sleep...
It made me delusional enough to tell Canyon that Gary was Santa...
It confused me enough to pay my costco membership 10x the amount...
It makes me grumpy, irritable and emotional labile...

BUT only for 3 days and not always. Sometimes we hold it together just fine.
...it pays our bills and puts Gary through school.
...it enables our lovely life.
...it allows me to spend more time with my boys.

HOWEVER, when I am done with it I wont miss it!

It's been nearly 60 degrees...

And we have been outside enjoying it, hiking it, breathing it, and LOVING IT!

Trek spends a lot of time doing this...

Behind the door is a line of cars and trucks and the sweet sounds of make believe voices and growls.
Trek makes me smile.

New Year's

We went to our neighbor's.

We played ping pong and danced with the wii.

We ate snacks and toasted with Martinelli's

Trek and Canyon ran and played and made it to midnight.

We blew horns and cheered when the clocked struck 12:00.

Gary & I kissed.

And John Lennon's song Imagine played just before the ball dropped in NYC.

My favorite verse from the song:

Imagine no possessions

I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger

A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people sharing all the world

Each year brings new beginnings, new opportunities, and change.

Dream.

Hope.

Pray.

React.

Love.

Imagine.

Happy New Year!

P.S. While getting ready for the party I was putting lotion on Canyon. He was excited for the party and said, "I really do need lotion, because I don't want to get a party rash."

:/ :o :-)

I laughed the rest of the night thinking of this.
