Inspired by a book from Auntie Skye the kiddos were mummy's for Halloween. And they were precious! Canyon loved dressing up and Trek enjoyed having a few extra things to chew on. This was Canyon's first year TRICK-or-TREATING. His first stop was Gram's house where he received a completely edible apple man, a baseball bear and some cookies. Trek got a soft teddy bear (thanks mom). Then we headed to our church party where cars were lined up ready to load the kids bags with CANDY. At first Canyon was a little shy, but by the end of the TRUNK-or-TREAT he was reaching into there bowls to grab his own (I am still trying to figure out how to get rid of all the candy). We finished our night at Grandma & Grandpa Kirkman's house where there were green finger cookies and a house full of cousins. All the kids were cute, cute, cute. Can't wait for next year!

First Food
Big Brother helping.
Pulling the spoon into his mouth. Apparently I wasn't fast enough.
Canyon proudly giving Trek his first sips of water.
He really loves this thing. Food squishes through the mesh into babies mouth.
Grabbing the bowl, the spoon, the food. Anything to get the food into his mouth.
This video is of him enjoying his mesh feeder.

Cutting Firewood and The Fall Colors
Early Saturday morning me and my boys set out to cut some firewood for my mom and take in the fall colors. We headed up to the Apache-Sitgreaves and enjoyed a perfect day of wood cutting and picnicking.
My strong manly husband.
My sweet, sweet baby Trek.
My adorable, independent Canyon.

The Balloon Fiesta
Canyon, Trek and I spent the weekend in Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta. We stayed at my Dad's house which is literally across the ditch from Albuquerque's balloon park. I am certain you can't enjoy the Balloon Fiesta from a better place. The boys and I bunked in the "casita" with my ninety-five year-old Nana.
View from my Dad's yard.
Fireworks. We all walked up to watch the fireworks. They were so close you could almost touch them.
The great-grandsons with their Nana.
Bampa & Trek sitting under the Ramada after breakfast.
Stamp Camp: Let me explain...
Skye took me to my first stamp-camp where they walk you through 3 stamping projects, feed you delicious dessert, and have a catalog full of wonderful crafty things. Skye also took me to get a pedicure, gave me a garbage bag full of Halloween costumes, and gave me her dye-cutting machine. (Have I ever mentioned I have the best big sister-and my brother-in-law is not so bad either-he watched the kids while we had all this fun.)

A Rainbow
I love RAINBOWS and I consider it a blessing every time I see one. This particular morning I saw a double rainbow out my back door (you can't tell in this picture that it is a double rainbow). It was early in the morning. Rain was dropping on my back porch competing with the sunlight that also shown down. The brightest of the rainbows was on the bottom, with a paler, but not any less beautiful rainbow paralleling it's complete arch. The wind was blowing, the morning was cool. I raced to Canyon's room to wake up to show him such a special sight. He stared in amazement and we sat there until it disappeared.
