Good Morning

6:18: Sheets moving, Canyon letting out a little fuss. Me turning over to look at the clock. Gary turning over to get more sleep.

6:19: Canyon ½ cm away from Gary’s face saying “Hi, Hi, Hi, Hi.” Canyon plastering Gary with wet slobbering kisses.

6:20: Canyon ½ cm away from my face saying “Hi, Hi, Hi, Hi” and kissing me. Gary looking over me to see what time it is.

6:21: Me and Gary open our eyes and greet Canyon. Canyon says “Ooooh” as if he is surprised that we are awake. Canyon smiles. Me and Gary Smile. GOOD MORNING.

SUCKER

Petrified Forest

Safely riding on Dad’s back…

Peaking around the rocks.

This is moments before he fell flat on his face. Or as Gary tells the story...

Gary: "Grab Canyon while I get his hat."

Me: "OK." Then I start digging into the backpack for the camera.

Canyon: CRASH. CRY. BLOOD.

Gary: "Why did you drop him on his head?!"

Seconds later: Canyon peaking around the rocks.

Balancing all by himself. Hoping to not experience another CRASH.

Spring is here and so are the SNAKES!!!

Tickling Mama’s face…

EASTER: TOO MUCH FUN TO NOT POST

AUNTS. JELLYBEANS. EGGS. COUSINS. BABY GOATS. BAMPA. HUNT. GRANDMA. MOM. DAD. FOOD. BASKET. BALL. GRANPA. CANDY. PICTURES. UNCLE. SUNSHINE. NAP. FUN. FUN. FUN.

Nothing Else to Post

60 words

I am a blog slacker. My anniversary has come and gone, a fun family get together passed with not pictures to show, a long stretch at work with a new gratitude for my family “just” having the flu and I have nothing to post except that I can type 60 words per minute. But take the challenge; it was fun and got me in the mood to blog.

Happy Birthday Canyon

Happy Birthday to my BOY!! I cannot believe it has been a year. I tried to make today special for Canyon. I started his day by making him waffles and blueberries. He loved it, but probably didn’t think it was any different than any other breakfast he had eaten. We then played around the house. I let him get into whatever he wanted, probably no different than any other day. We played outside and I let him get dirty, pet the dogs, and play in his new sand box; no different than any other day. He got to take a shower with me; no different than any other day. He rejected his lunch and wanted to nurse instead; fell asleep and woke up as soon as I laid him down; no different than any other day. So as we carried on throughout the day with me trying to make every moment special because it was his first birthday; he just played and sang and kissed and hugged like he does every other day. I would periodically tell him stories about how sweet he was and how happy I am that his is my little boy and he would look up at me and say “ooh” or “hi” and sometimes melt my heart and say “mama.” But I am pretty sure he didn’t know that I was being sentimental or corny; I was just being his mama, the one that’s been the same every other day of his life. Then I got to thinking, today is for me. There will be many other birthday’s in Canyon’s life that are unlike all the other days of the year, birthday’s where he actually knows what’s going on. Today I wanted to make him waffles and blueberries, and let him get into what ever he wanted, and rock him and tell him stories. Today I wanted to let him skip his nap. Today I wanted to remember that last March 5th was unlike any other day I have ever had; it was the day I became a mama. So… Happy Birthday my sweet, silly, yummy, little boy; thank you for giving me so make special days.

Dress up ALREADY

Who knew a 1 year old could like playing dress up. Whether it’s a sock, a kitchen towel, a turtle costume, or something from my “girly” drawer Canyon is digging the dress up thing lately. Once the glasses and some piece of clothe are on, he boasts out his chest, starts hollering and runs around like 10 year old girl.

Gary's Trip to Canada

Gary and some friends took a snowboarding trip to Whistler. Canyon and I missed him tons, but passed the time with a girls poker night and a trip to Albuquerque. He had a wonderful time and returned home safe and sound.

Gary's on the right. Hiking to fresh powder I'm sure.
A beautiful Canadian view. Too cold for me.

HaPpY DaY!

We celebrated Canyon's 1st birthday on Saturday. He had so much fun and so did I! The costumes we adorable, the company was great and I couldn't have asked for a better day. Thank you all for making Canyon's first year so full of love and happiness.

One Word: Skye. This cupcake tree was her creation. She is so amazing.

Absolutely beautiful!

What a sweet bunny. If only I could have caught her and Canyon together I might have a caption that says "The tortoise and the hare" (Ha, Ha)

The bubble maker is from Bannon & Cara. It's so much fun!

Canyon loves these glasses. He turns into another person when he puts them on. Thanks Cara!

Not sure what to do about the candle, but really wanting a cupcake:)

The whole crew of animals.

A turtle and his grandpa.

Is he a monkey, a lion or a bunny? That's what Canyon is trying to figure out.
Two grandmas in the same place. How did a boy get so lucky.

Chillin' with Uncle Paho as the festivities end.

The dog costume Holden is wearing is the same one Summer wore when we were little.

Some of the cutest kids I know!
