Proud Papa

Gary, Canyon, & Trek on Father's Day

6.20.2009

These days...

Our arms aren't empty very often. And neither is our bed.

Capture Photography

My dear friend Cara took Canyon & Trek's pictures a couple of weeks ago. I got the prints yesterday and absolutely love them.
Here are some favorites:

I think I need to order some more!

No more gum for Mr. C...

Trek...

Our family is really falling in love with this little guy (even Canyon). Here are some of my favorite things about my baby Trek...

He is starting to smile, kick and coo.

He loves to be in his mama's arms & I love him there.

He has soft, chubby legs that kick my tummy all night long.

He has more than one chin.

He wrinkles his forehead like his Daddy.

He has a birthmark on his forehead.

He is such a sweet boy. A perfect fit in our family.

Snugli's

While in Flagstaff last week Gary picked up a Snugli that is Canyon's size. Canyon was so excited about his new Snugli that we packed up the boys and went for a hike. Canyon only spent a couple of minutes in his Sungli, before he wanted to run around. Sweet little Trek liked to be close to his mama in his Snugli. I can see many more family outings with our Snuglies.

Girls Reunion #5

Sierra. Maya. Moriah. Trek. Sarah. Cheyenne. Summer
Sarah. Maya. Cheyenne. Sierra. Trek. Moriah. Summer

Last weekend was the annual Girls Reunion in Greer. Greer because of baby Trek (sorry girls-we missed Mexico). As usual it was wonderful to see everyone. We spent the weekend in a small cabin, with sporadic hot water (I had two cold showers), but enjoyed each others company and catching up. For five years we have been gathering for a weekend. It is one of my favorite, most rewarding weekends of the year. Thank you all for coming! I miss you already.

Planting the Garden

The garden is planted!! Finally! Good team work got the job done. Our dirt is not the best, our starts are weak, but we did it! And I am hopeful.

Some funny words...

While cutting Canyon's hair he got a nervous look on his face and tears in his eyes, touched his head and said "It's all gone for a minute? It's all gone."

I gave Canyon blueberries and Cheerios for breakfast. He immediately ate all the blueberries and drank all the milk then asked for more blueberries. I told him no and to please eat his cereal. He told me "More blueberries. I tell Dad. I miss my Dad. I miss her."

After nap yesterday he sweetly leaned up against me a smiled and said "I glad you home mom."

A quick visit

Paho and Leigh were on there way from Oakland to Denton and stopped by my Mom's for a pit stop. The boys and I enjoyed a morning of visiting and breakfast. Canyon kept Auntie Leigh busy trekking her around my Mom's gardens. Paho dunked Canyon's head in the fish pond. Good thing Canyon likes water. They got to meet baby Trek for the first time. We already miss them and hope next time is a longer visit.

Camping With Dad

Gary thought it would be fun to camp in the back yard with Canyon. Canyon thought it was GREAT. He was so excited. Gary can't wait to really take Canyon camping.
Setting up the tent.

Trying out the bed.

Roasting marshmallows and making "marshmallow sammies."

Trek watching all the fun.
