Fishing. Minutes after this picture was taken Canyon had to get out of the boat so the big boys could go fishing. His heart was broken. He screamed and cried. He pleaded with them to come back and wait. My heart broke too.

Canning

Yesterday Canyon and I spent some time picking veggies in the garden. Canyon shares a love of the garden with me. He was right by my side (sometimes in my lap) picking green beans, squishing squash bugs, pulling weeds, and searching for cucumbers. Trek was right next to us in his swing enjoying the outside weather, cooing and blowing spit bubbles (his newest trick). It made me remember the time I spent in the garden with my family growing up. I have so many good memories of our gardens and I am very grateful now to share a garden with my family. It seems like half the vegetables Canyon and I picked ended up in our bellies, because we couldn't resist their yummy taste.

I was doing a big harvest because my mom was coming over today to teach me how to make pickles. Canning is something that I helped with growing up and have wanted to re-learn. My generous mama started my canning stash with 12 wide mouth jars, and a water bath pot and strainer. She also brought homegrown garlic and dill for the pickles. My mama makes the best dill pickles. Writing down each step she guided me through 10 jars of pickles. They turned out beautiful! And I am sure will taste delicious!

Our most recent trip to Albuquerque

Paho & Leigh came from Texas, my mom and Gary & I & the boys came from Arizona where we enjoyed a family rendezvous in Albuquerque with the Holly's and my dad & Clorie. We watched Matt's football game coached by Mark and Jesse (they won); ate lots of good food; celebrated Paho's birthday (31); went to a concert; had a family photo shoot (I can't wait to see the final shots); and lots of other fun stuff. Paho and his pumpkin pie.

New Tricks

Trek and Canyon are the smartest, most adorable, and cutest little critters around (well that's what Gary and I think)! Most recently Trek has learned to suck his thumb and Canyon has learned to ride his tricycle without help. PRECIOUS, PRECIOUS, PRECIOUS kids.

Another water boy!

Last Week...

Gary and I took Canyon to his first movie where he enjoyed "pop corn, ice cream coke, and candies" and the TV was "so bigger." We learned where the phrase "buck wild" came from. Our boys were angles and we had a great time. Me and Canyon and Trek before the movie.
Me and Gary before our big date. I was so lucky to have 3 handsome boys take me on a date.

My mom and I took Canyon and Trek to the bookstore in Taylor. While prepping Canyon for book store etiquette he so maturely told me "don't hold my hand mom; don't hold my hand OK." He is so independent! He will probably have his own ride to kindergarten. Grandma and the boys.

Canyon and I picked enough green beans from the garden for dinner! They were delicious.

Trek is growing and changing by the minute. He smiles and laughs. Kicks and coos. We all love him so much.
