Canyon's big trip

Canyon left today on a trip to Albuquerque with my Mom. He won't be home until Sunday--that's 3 days from now! He was so excited to go on an ADVENTURE with Gram. He did however ask many times where Mom, Dad, & Trek would be while he was away. This morning he helped me pack his bag. I gave him a special bathroom bag for his tooth brush, soap & lotion. He decided to add band-aids & Q-tips along with a watch. He packed a bag full of books for the car & I packed his clothes. He made sure his slippers, his Wheeze & green blanket were included. I got him some special snacks for the drive & he could barley contain himself. Once we were packed he decided to go out front on the red bench & wait for Grandma. When she arrived he raced to her car. I loaded him up, gave him a big squeeze & waved good-bye. I can't believe he is so big. I will miss him & I can't wait to hear how much fun he had.

The Garden is Planted!!

According to my Celestial Influences 2010 calendar & my mama Monday was a good day to plant. So I did... with the help of two sweet boys. We planted sweet peas, tomatoes (3 kinds), peppers (3 kinds), cucumbers (2 kinds), summer & winter squash, beets, carrots, basil, parsley & cilantro.
I can't wait to watch it grow!

The Cat Walk & Mogollon, NM

We headed out for an ADVENTURE last Saturday. After about 2 1/2 hours in the car we arrived at the Cat Walk in the Gila National Forest. It was beautiful drive despite having to bribe Trek's crying with a sucker, cleaning up his car sick-vomit upon arrival & stopping for Canyon's potty breaks. We were all happy to get out of the car & start walking. Canyon is so excitable and happy to be with his family & Trekker loves to be outside which makes our family adventures so fun. When we were done with lunch & the Cat Walk (Canyon hiked the almost the entire way) we headed to our next destination. After a long winding road & some more vomit we arrived at the GHOST TOWN of Mogollon, NM . It was a sweet & friendly town. We visited with the locals (population 16 1/2), did a little shopping & enjoyed some ice-cream before making the drive home. Trek rode home naked (we ran out of clothes for him), which he didn't mind at all & we made one last stop at the Lollipop Shoppe in Alpine (Canyon was thrilled) & Canyon only had to stop once to pee. I can't wait for the next Kirkman Adventure.

The Family on the Cat Walk.

The final bridge. Canyon jumped on it making it swing. He thought the swing bridge was so cool.
Gary & Trek.

Canyon & Gary running.

Canyon pointing out the rocks & waterfalls.

Canyon & I perched out on some rocks.

Trek absolutely exhausted and zonked out on Gary's back.

Such a good & strong Daddy carrying both his boys.

Some flowers from our walk. I love the desert, especially this time of year.
Eating ice-cream in Mogollon.

Some pictures from the Ghost Town.

Only in Arizona

Two days ago this is what it was doing at my house (Let me remind you it is May)...

And today this is what was happening at my house!

I'll take the scene in the second picture any day (And yes that is a citronella candle in the picture. The bugs were crazy & I thought it might help).

We went to Albuquerque...

...to celebrate Jesse's 17th Birthday! But I didn't get a picture of the young & handsome teenager (Happy Birthday Jesse). I did however get a picture of:

Canyon playing Guitar Hero with Matt.

Mom, Skye, Matt & I at the Breast Cancer Walk.

And Mark took a picture of the boys at the Aquarium (he took them there while we were at the walk).
