Style

Canyon has been totally in to dressing himself and thinking he is very cool.

Here are some of his style tips:

  1. Shorts are always appropriate.

  2. Jackets are never appropriate.

  3. Sunglasses make the outfit.

  4. Two shirts must always be worn--can be 2 t-shirts, 2 collared shirts, 2 sweat shirts, but always 2 shirts.

  5. Socks are optional, but when worn must be pulled all the way up.

  6. Shoes must be multipurpose-- skateboard/river/hiking/climbing/running/school.

  7. Never wear what mom or dad think match--they have no idea what they talking about.

(I think he's doing a pretty good job!)

Spring Break

SPRING BREAK:

*FUN*FAMILY*FABULOUS*

(We walked around the cliff dwellings of Wupatki. My Favorite part was the blow hole--a rare geologic feature in which air is either blown out or sucked into a small hole at the surface due to pressure differences between a closed underground cavern system and the surface--in this case blown out--check out the top picture and the bottom right--amazing.)

(Gary & I celebrated our 10th Anniversary at the Amberian Peaks Lodge in Greer. Thanks to the Heap's we went alone and enjoyed every minute of our time.)

(We hiked into Walnut Canyon--and later realized we weren't supposed to let the kids climb on the walls--YIKES!--Check out the top middle picture--The boys are praying--Canyon got scolded and was upset and decided to say a prayer and of course Trek had to tag along.)

(While I worked Gary took Canyon & Trek camping at Beaver Creek. Trek didn't want to get out of the tent in the morning because it wast too cold and Canyon literally talked about the fire & marshmallows & sleeping bag for days.)

(Gary and Billy and another friend kayaked the Verde River--another memorable trip for the Down River crew!)

(While Gary and Billy were kayaking the Verde Lyndee & her gang came a hung with me and my boys and we jumped, swam, wrestled, built forts, ate, and played til Canyon sobbed with exhaustion. It was wonderful!)

Anniversary

We just celebrated out 10th Anniversary (our actual Anniversary was March 9th)! Thanks to the help of Gary's oldest sister Amber & her family we were able to escape alone to Greer. It was wonderful!

And just for fun here is a pic of us on our Wedding Day:

Broccoli

Gary and I were preparing dinner when Canyon came into the kitchen to investigate the menu. Much to his dismay broccoli was on the list. He began to pout (he is very good at this) and proceeded to sob with frustrated tears...
"I don't want broccoli. It does not honor me."
Stunned and confused and trying not to laugh, Gary and I looked at each other and asked him to repeat himself. And he replied with a louder sob...
"I don't want broccoli, it just doesn't honor me."
He eventually calmed down, ate the honorless broccoli, and decided it wasn't too bad.

Happy Birthday Canyon

So my Canyon turned 4! Every year I can't believe how big he is. And this year was no different. When I look at him I see a boy! His personality grows every day. He is independent, funny, kind, smart, and precious. Sometimes I can't believe he is mine and I fall in love with him more each day.

The Party:
