Our life the past month...

We brought our second baby home from the hospital!

I celebrated Mother's Day with two sweet boys. And one big handsome husband who planted two beautiful rose bushes on my arbor in the back yard.

We attempted to take a family photo. This was our best shot. Next time we will ask someone to take it for us.

Trek got a bath. If he looks nervous he is. His big brother was "helping" and poured water over his head.

Canyon decided to share his blankets with baby Trek. This was a turning point.
Trek & Canyon. Canyon thought Trek's tummy sounded like a drum when he pounded it. Trek screamed.
What will next month bring...

The Rim Trail

In an attempt to get out of the house and pass the time waiting for our stubborn little Taurus to come Gary, Canyon, and I braved the wind and walked the Rim Trail. Canyon walked the entire way and didn't seem to mind the wind. We stopped on every bridge to look into the water. Canyon thought that there should be a train on every bridge. He didn't quite understand that bridges aren't only for trains, but it motivated him to keep walking to find the next.

I spotted this Horny toad and Gary caught it. I love Horny toads. Canyon did too.

After a "pizza party" we headed home and it was my job to keep Canyon from falling asleep. He was not happy about this and attempted to fool me by covering his face with his bandanna. Silly, smart boy. He's napping now. I better hurry and catch one too.

A visit from my Dad

My dad came up last Thursday to help while the baby was born. He heads home tomorrow and it's not looking good that he will be here for the arrival of grandson #4. It has been wonderful having him around. He has played with Canyon, helped me with yard work, cooked dinners, and taken many walks with me. He has helped to pass the time and ease the stress of waiting. I am so grateful for my Dad and his support. I am blessed to have him in my life and can't wait for my new boy to have him as a Bampa.

Canyon and Bampa planting flowers on Earth Day.

I am still pregnant...

Our bags are packed.

The list of things to do before the baby is born is complete.

I have nested myself crazy.

I have tried many home remedies to induce labor.

I am uncomfortable.

I am emotional.

Gary is being sweet.

Canyon is being sweet.

Lots of friends and family are checking in daily.

When will it happen...

Just So I Don't Forget

Canyon is learning about independence and is constantly saying "Stop Mom!" "Try me" "Me do it" He is very adamant about what he wants and when he wants it. I find the more patient I am the better our day goes. I of course have to set limits when it comes to using knives, driving the car, climbing on the cabinets, etc.

On the flip side he is so sweet always giving lots of hugs and kisses and saying "I love you, mama. I love you, dada" "Hold you, me." "Be safe."

Although we have talked about the baby coming I don't really think he has any idea about being a brother or having a baby in the house. But sometimes I see him looking in the bassinet or at the baby diapers saying with a sweet voice "Oh baby, so little."

He loves Sponge Bob and Anoop Desai (American Idol contestant).

He will bring his dirty clothes to the laundry room when I ask him too.

Canyon and I like to look up songs on YouTube and watch them. Well I do and Canyon seems to enjoy them most of the time.

My favorite time of day is when Canyon wakes up. We bring him to bed with us and all cuddle. He kisses on Gary then wraps his arms around me. Pure sweetness.

He has learned how to be a pirate from Holden and plays pirates almost everyday with his Dad.

He got a booster seat that he loves and a toilet that he loves, but doesn't really know how to use.

He loves to wash his hands.

He hates the wind and the sunshine in his eyes. He will start crying when faced with either.

He talks, talks, talks, and is listening to everything we are saying. He soaks everything up weather it comes from a book, a movie, a conversation Gary & I have had. He is continually surprising us with silly comments.

Gary taught him how to fake cry and Canyon thinks it's great. He practices it when we are not watching. And can't wait to do it when asked. He's doing it right now.

He is learning different emotions. Happy, Sad, Mad, Silly.

He still loves Dino's.
